The Philosophy Behind the Design
In a world built on speed and shortcuts, Relic Modern™ is grounded in care and intention. Every piece I create is crafted by my hands, guided by a single vision, and built just for you. I take inspiration from classic designs and pare my work back to the essentials, letting the geometry, texture, and quality of the woods define the form. Functional minimalism drives the approach. The result is distinct, sustainable furniture designed to endure—timeless pieces that become the centerpiece of your home.
In my collection, you'll find an escape from assembly-line produced, particle board furniture or passing fads that you'll be itching to re-sell within five years. Each item is designed to be as beautiful today as it will be in decades, leaving you with something that you'll be eager to pass on to the next generation.
The Man Behind the Creations
A penchant for creating has been with me from childhood, whether it be building forts out of hay bales, cities out of Legos, or sets for plays (which I also acted in). Always a lover of clean modern design, I came to woodworking by accident and without formal training - every method I use comes from years of figuring out what works and why.
I bring my vision to handcrafted modern and mid-century designs from my Northeast Minneapolis-based studio. I proudly call Minneapolis my home, where I spend my free time with my wife and son. Outside the studio, I enjoy playing piano, fish keeping and aqua-scaping. In the evenings, I can be found playing lawn games in the yard, lifting weights in the gym, or watching a movie with a bourbon old-fashioned in hand.
My work has been recognized with awards, media coverage and public commissions, and my pieces can be found in boutique stores and customers' homes throughout the country.

The Story Behind the Name
“Relic” and “Modern” embody a balance: designs rooted in history, yet reimagined for today. Relic Modern™ reflects a love for mid-century modern and minimalist design—carefully crafted furniture and objects that feel like relics, shaped by time and tradition. My goal is to create modern heirlooms meant to be lived with, passed down, and treasured for generations.
