If you’ve ever wondered why our lead times are longer, here’s the honest answer. Every piece made at Relic Modern™ is built by me, start to finish, in my Minneapolis studio. When you place an order, you’re reserving a spot in my build schedule. And when your piece reaches the bench, I’m building it with thoughtfulness and intention, specifically for you.

I’m not pulling a pre-made piece from a warehouse, and there’s no assembly line of worker bees behind the scenes.

I select the lumber,
I mill it, I join it, I sand it by hand,
and I finish it.

If I’m building something meant to last generations, I’m not going to shortcut that process.

And honestly, the fact that there’s a wait is part of what makes this work what it is. It’s a sign that the pieces are carefully made, and that the quality is high-end.

So yes, there’s a wait.

But when it arrives at your home, it isn’t something that’s been sitting in a box. It’s something that’s moved through my hands, built for you, and only you.
